lets analyse and bring the best of Jayachandran the great singer of 70s ...

Not sure whether any thread exists already as I could not find anyting in memories of yester years and hence prompted me to create.

    Looking forward.

The song immediately comes to mind is... Manjolay kilidhano... maandhanooo..... from Kizakay pogum rayil

He has given glorious hits in the 70s........

    a class singer......

Basically from Kerala but pronounced tamil words with precision...

there will be flavour of honey on his songs..

His songs with VJ were generally Hit. Even in baba, kannathil muththamittaal, his voice was like that of 80s jayachandran

The first song I heared from Jayachandran is

"Vasandha kaala nadhigaliley.. vaira mani neeralaigal" in Moondru mudichu by MSV.

"Amudho thamizhil ezhuthum kavitahai".. by MSV in Maduraiyai Meeta Sundarapandiyan, may be the only song he sung for MGR.

"Chithira Sevvaanam sirikka kanden" and "Oru vaanavil poley.. en vaazhviley vandhaai" are two great hits from Kaatriniley varum Geetham by IR.

MSV gave him two great songs:
    "Kavithai arangerum neram" and
"Thendralathu unnidathil solli vaitha sethi ennavo"
    from 'Andha 7 Naatkal'.

Ilaiyaraja gave him all songs in 'Vaidhehi Kaathirundhaal', all are super hit.

    As saradha said,
All songs from V..K were hits.
Raasathi Onna kaanatha nenju and Kaarthirundhu are sad nos and leave us haunting for sometime
    whereas
Indraikku een intha aananthame .. is sung in a happy mood and hearing the song makes us cheerful.

    Other famous songs are
Kadavul Vaazhum - Oru Thalai Ragam
Devan Thantha veenai- Unnai Naan Sandhithaen
    Vasantha Kaalangal - Rail Payanangalil
    Sollamale - Poove Unakkagha
    Kannathil Muthamittal - Kannathil Muthamittal
    Enmel Vizhuntha - May Maatham
    Kollaijile Thennai - Kadhalan
    Kodiyile Maligapoo - Kadalora Kavithaikal
    Kavithai Kelunkal - Punnagai Mannan

Each of the song is different. Particularly, Kollaiyile thennai and Enmel vizuntha are best...

The realization of happiness happens only after experience of pain.

If we desire to blossom like a flower in the garden of life,
Then we must learn the art of adjusting our life with the thorns!

    Dear YVSM,

Kavidhai arangerum neram.... will be the actual tamil song...

it will start with ... Sapthaswara devi unarooo..

    You are right.

Kavithai kelungal.... JC will do the humming and alapanai only in the second leg of the song...

the main song was by VJ the great.

there are some songs of JC... which are popular but most of us dont know the film name...

    Yes madhu, you are correct...

'Raja ponnu adai vaadiyammaa'...has two version. First one happy in day effect, and the second one in night effect, where Sumithra lost her to Jaiganesh.

It came before Vaidehi kaathirundhaal's "Rasaathi unnai kaanaatha nenju".

Many fans told it is like "Raja ponnu" of Orey Muththam. But when "Rasaathi onne" became a great hit, then "Raja Ponnu" was forgotten (both by IR).

One more famous number of Jayachandran:
"Vara vendum vaazhkaiyil vasandham" in Mayangugiraal Oru Maadhu.
