Thread: Raga of songs

    why is this page lost?

    Hi,

This page has a list that we compiled long back, hosted by TFM folks. Whenever I need to refer to it, I have to google search for "Subu Kannikeswaran" to reach this page. Why is TFM
providing a link to this page anymore?

    http://www.tfmpage.com/forum/classical.html

    Thanks

    Subu

    MOHANA KALYANI

This typical Janya-Raga of Beauty, Sweetness coupled with enlightenment of Joy-mood swiftly...

.. is NOT AT ALL DIFFICULT TO IDENTIFY.

By hearing the below-mentioned Two Songs....Vocal and Instrumental,... even a Stranger can form a clear picture of this rare Raga... and ENJOY.

"Senthamizh Naadenum Poadhinilae".... sung by Maharajapuram Santhanam... with abundant Sangathis and Kaarvais.... CLARIFIES this Raga in one way..

Whereas...on Violin by Ganesh-Kumaresh... another Sahithyam... "Sidhi Vinayakam" ... well-defines this Raga in another aspect... filling up our Mind and Soul.

Even a Non-Rasika... can easily enjoy hearing this.

What raaga is the song 'Amudhe Thamizhe' from Koyil Pura based on. I was kind of sure its malayamarutham. But This author says its a raaga called Varnarupini.

    Srini

    Varnarupini'nnu chinmayi's mom sonnadhaala "expert analysis"nnu paaraatuvaanga...

Idhai mattum vera yaaraavadhu (lesser souls) solliyirundha "dont try to map a song to some obscure raga, even the MD would be flabbergasted if he were to hear this"nnu solluvaanga...

Seri seri, if you ask me, i had always thought of it as "rasikaranjani"...

Vel, why so much sour feeling... for me you are 'THE RAAGA MAN', ok vaa!

    Hi Baroque

Not sour feelings but just an impression that i could plainly gather, after carefully watching a few select "policemen on patrol" that roam this page, who are well know for their double standards...

Raaja sindhu-ramakriya'la oru paatu potirukkarunu enakku sonnadhu neenga - and your emotional description of some raja songs have often made me think if we should be dissecting his songs technically at all, in the first place...so, we both will agree not to assign any hierarchy to each other - just keep learning mutually :-)

Sorry Vel, I gave you the wrong impression.......
