I dont have much knowledge about raagas .. ops:

But I always love melodies and songs based on raagas...

I find a close similiarity between the songs:

    "Raaja Raja chozhan nan"
    "Poo Pookum maasam"
    "Katril enthan geetham"
    "Unna nenachen paatu padichen" and
    "Unnai naan ariven"

These songs linger and i feel they have something in common.. Can someone shed some light...

The realization of happiness happens only after experience of pain.

If we desire to blossom like a flower in the garden of life,
Then we must learn the art of adjusting our life with the thorns!

    Isn't it misra Sivaranjani?

Kudagu malai..... much more resemblance to 'malai karukkaiyil....'(Sivaranjani)! So I also go with Misra sivaranjani!! Kudagu malai.... the composition carries the somber mood beautifully!

    RR / Baroque

If mishra sivaranjani is inclusion of ga3 in sivaranjani, then almost all IR sivaranjani's are mishra ! He rarely has done a orthodox sivaranjani, IMHO

On the other hand, "kudagu malai" has Prathi madhyamam (M2), which i dont think mishra sivaranjani has (which allows Ga3 / Ni2 and Dha1 at best)

    Hmm, raaga definitions constantly evolve.
